James Beard nominee Chase’s Daily is filled with a passion for quality local food. This family operation is incredibly dedicated to growing their own food. Not far from the restaurant they have a farm with many varieties of organic produce growing. Chase’s Daily is a lovely vegetarian restaurant that celebrates locally grown foods. After a cheerfully fresh meal, head to the back of the restaurant to the airy farmers market, and then grab some bread at the bakery. It’s all there! Housed in an 1888 building it has high molded tin ceilings, brick walls, and wood floors that give this restaurant a comfortable feel. It was a Saturday morning around 11:00am when we arrived and the place was busy. A wait had just started for lunch, the bakery was lined up with people waiting to purchase the freshly baked breads, and the bins of organic produce were being emptied by shoppers. We sat in a large booth and ordered off the vegetarian menu. Not missing meat options, I ordered a white bean crostini, a salad with tender lettuces and purple flowers, and vegetable tacos for my entrée. This place is spectacular!
